Bodegas Artadi
Since our project's inception in 1985, we've anchored ourselves in the rich traditions upheld by those dedicated to the wine-growing legacy of our region for generations. Taking the lead in this endeavour since 1992, the Lacalle y Laorden family has passionately preserved and nurtured the vines, unlocking unique expressions from each vineyard that mirror the distinct personality of every terroir. The Alava landscape, adorned with small Tempranillo and Viura vineyards, forms a captivating wine-growing mosaic, showcasing a delicate balance between chalky soils, alluvial gravel, silt, and clay. This harmonious blend, shaped by our unique microclimate influenced by continental, Atlantic, and Mediterranean factors, epitomizes our commitment to venerating the environment and cultivating exceptional wines.
In the picturesque villages of Laguardia and Elvillar de Álava, Artadi oversees 56 hectares of vineyards nestled at the foot of the Sierra de Toloño, marking the heart of the Sonsierra Alavesa region. This region's diverse edaphology, characterized by its poor soils, contributes to the intricate tapestry of our wines, providing a canvas for the intricate interplay of natural elements and human craftsmanship that defines our vinicultural philosophy.
