About This Wine
Chateau La Varriere
Dating back to the 15th century, Château La Varière is one of Anjou’s most renowned estates, with 150 hectares of vineyards planted mainly to Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chenin Blanc. The estate produces nearly all of Anjou’s key appellations, including Anjou Rouge, Anjou-Villages Brissac, Coteaux du Layon, and Quarts de Chaume Grand Cru. Its philosophy is rooted in a deep respect for terroir — selecting the finest plots based on soil, exposure, and microclimate to craft wines of character and complexity. Meticulous vineyard work, from short pruning to careful canopy management, ensures ripe, concentrated fruit, while masterful blending brings balance and harmony to every vintage.
