Van Loveren Calcrete Chardonnay

Calcrete, a new style of unwooded Chardonnay, emerges from the limestone-rich wine appellation nestled between Bonnievale and Robertson, offering a sensory journey through the geological wonders of the region.
Derived from the white deposits of limestone known as calcrete found in the soils, Calcrete Chardonnay epitomizes the exhilarating minerality distinctive to this terroir. The geological diversity, ranging from calcareous outcrops to ancient petrified maritime deposits, imparts a unique character and minerality to these wines, making them a true reflection
Light, luminescent, radiant, almost as if containing a natural light source within. A silvery colour, with tinges of pale lime green-gold, reminding one of the inside of an abalone shell. On the nose, lime, wet calcium stone and sea spray. On the palate vibrant taste of fresh saltiness, oyster shell minerality and squeeze of lime.
